D.K.'s Preseason Power Rankings: Spring 2015

Spring 2015 is already looking like the Juggernaut that will destroy whatever scant free time the Otaku Saga writers have left; and we will be all the better for it. I've never seen a single season of anime look this good before...

Just between The Jake and I alone, we're going to be tackling THIRTY-ONE series; our busiest season yet. Let's get this Spring lineup started on the right foot with a nice little preseason power ranking. You know, like we used to do. The thing is, given the fact that we're watching so many series this go around, you're getting a TOP 10 preseason list from me, not the usual top 5.

No. 10 Dungeon ni Deai o Motomeru no wa Machigatteiru Darou ka? / Is It Wrong to Pick Up Girls In A Dungeon? - J.C. Staff

A charming high fantasy from J.C. Staff with possibly the best title in the history of EVER.

No. 9  Punchline - MAPPA

Anime about people having their souls knocked out of their body have been leaving a good impression on my recently. ImoCho and Noragami come to mind, and hopefully Punch Line continues the trend.

No. 8 Triage X

Nurses in skimpy outfits moonlighting as assassins... Don't judge me. Also, Shoji Sato is officially forgiven for the delayed release of chapters for Highschool of the Dead; the manga on which this is based was the project that created that hiatus.

No. 7 Ore Monogatari!! / My Love Story!!

No, this anime doesn't reflect my real life AT ALL. Quit looking at me with such pity...

No. 6 Nisekoi

Vanilla Torture: The Anime, returns to blueball us even more with Raku's sheer ignorance. More laughs and shenanigans will undoubtedly ensue.

No. 5 Gunslinger Stratos

A-1 Pictures doing an adaptation of a very fun looking Square Enix game about fighting yourself from an alternate universe can only be a good thing. Expect slick action sequences and plenty of references to The One from us.

No. 4 Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Comedy wa Machigatteiru Zoku / My Teenage Romantic Comedy SNAFU: 2

Hark, and take heed, for I deliver a prophecy! Hachiman, our god of wisdom shall descend upon us once more and deliver his gospel of snark and wisdom to his people!

No. 3 Kekkai Sensen

A Yasuhiro Nightow manga adaptation with Toshiro Kawamoto character designs; the best of 1990's anime with modern animation quality from Bones. Cross shaped weapons and pure badassery await.

No. 2 Denpa Kyoushi

Think Great Teacher Onizuka, if Onizuka were an Otaku NEET, (the double whammy) instead of a former biker gang leader.

No. 1 Nagato Yuki-Chan no Shoushitsu / The Vanshing of Yuki Nagato

The long-awaited spinoff of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya series looks jam-packed with the best of both the original series and The Melancholy of Haruhi-Chan Suzumiya. The fact that the entire original cast is coming back makes my no. 1 pick almost by default.
